A LITTLE KNOW-HOW
How to use the instrument picker wheel
Choose an instrument to discuss, draw, or listen for in music you select yourself. Edit the list for a lesson or a creative activity.
✧
Make the result useful
Decide what the selected instrument will be used for: a drawing subject, a listening task, or a research topic.
Edit the sample entries, then click SPIN in the center of the wheel. Use Settings for the winner count, spin duration, and automatic removal.
Follow up with the activity you chose and add notes outside the wheel if needed.
The active Entries list supplies the wheel and its Groups and Random Rank panels. Edit that list when you want different participants or choices.

Your editable starting list
Choose an instrument to draw, discuss, or listen for. The wheel starts with 8 entries:
Piano
Guitar
Violin
Drums
Trumpet
Flute
Cello
Saxophone
Add one item per line in Entries. Shuffle changes the order; Edit weights changes each eligible entry’s chance on the wheel. The sample list is a starting point, not a complete catalog.
◇
Did you know?
The label controls the draw, not the sound. Renaming an instrument or adding a new one changes the list without adding audio playback.
With the original list and equal weights, each entry has a 1 in 8 chance on a single spin. Adding entries, removing them, disabling them, or changing weights changes that calculation.

Instrument Picker Wheel FAQs
Will this tool play the selected instrument?
No. It displays the instrument name. Use your own audio resources if your activity involves listening.
Can I use the wheel for a drawing exercise?
Yes. Treat the selected instrument name as your subject, and adjust the list to the instruments your group wants to explore.
Can I change the wheel’s entries and appearance?
Yes. Add or remove lines in Entries, choose a palette in Customize, and use Add image before Export for a background or image-filled wheel. Settings controls spin behavior and multiple winners. The page keeps the same wheel features as the homepage.
Will my changes still be here next time?
Changes are saved in this browser, separately for this page. Reloading reopens this page’s saved workspace rather than adding another wheel. Clearing site data can delete it, so keep a complete wheel JSON export.
Can I share a customized version?
Share opens an editable wheel copy with your entries, weights, settings, and any uploaded image. It does not synchronize later changes or include your spin history. Anyone with the link can read its data.
